Beginning on December 2, 2019, the premium processing fee for certain employment-based petitions will increase from the current fee of $1,410 to $1,440 for Form I-129, Petition for a Non-immigrant Worker, and Form I-140, Immigrant Petition for Alien Worker.

Premium processing is an optional service currently authorized for certain petitioners. For an extra fee, petitioners can request 15-day processing when filing forms I-129 or I-140. The premium processing fee cannot be waived and is paid in addition to the base filing fee and all other applicable fees.

The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services  (USCIS) has attributed the fee increase to inflation. The last increase occurred in October 2018, at that time, the fee was raised by slightly more than 15 percent.
